The line "she'll charge you by the hour for a straight trip down to hell" screams prostitute to me though it could simply be a video-girlesque type. To be honest I think this whole song reads as a warning for some guy who is getting too close . He's stating that he's not a lover but is still afraid that this girl could hurt him. "When you touch the fire your heart can still get burned" For some reason whenever i read this line it doesn't make me think that he's afraid to fall in love with someone who is clearly unnavailable to return honest love (maybe because he states he's not a lover) but instead he's using the heart to get it past disney. By lyng with a prostitute you come back with a little more than you came with if you catchmy drift :P If you look at it this way the fire and "burning" makes a lot of sense.There's lots of other parts i see this in the song even in the title "state of emergency" So maybe my prostitute STI theory is a bit out there but it makes sense to me.
