"I started feeling bad for myself today". This is him being hit by all the bad stuff that happened in his life.
"But then I stopped 'cause I don't care". All that stuff leads him into the suicide, and him ignoring everything else.
"About fifty years left of just waiting around". This is saying that he still has 50 years of life left, but to him, it's going to be nothing more than waiting for the end.
