Cover art for Voyage lyrics by Charlotte Gainsbourg

It's been a while since I studied French but, uh, here's the LITERAL (emphasis here) translation:

journey to the end of the night journey to the end of the night journey to the end of the night

wild feathers the mirage kerosene au gris gris* rattlesnake Cadillac human race space life

journey to the end of the night

(we could go) to the end of the world etc.

black guitar razor blade porte bonheur** hang heart vagabond bottle blond scar sacrifice

etc.

*"gris" means "gray," as in the color, but "gris-gris" is a voodoo talisman **"bonheur" means "happiness," "porte" means either "door" or a form of the verb "porter," "to carry", so, idk here? "happiness door"?

did some reading–I thought it'd meant something along the lines of "happiness door" as well, but it turns out -bonheur means 'lucky charm'. so it's like carrying a bit of happiness with you!
