I agree with CrimeKisses thing about 'the difference between us' being gender. I can see the depressive side to this having read other interpretations, but I've always thought it was more of a sexual song.
I kind of get the impression that when she says 'let me do what i need to', she's in some kind of a sexual frenzy and doesn't want to talk, just wants to get to it right away.
The difference between them could possibly not just be a gender thing but the difference between their needs, or possibly twisting sex as an aggressive activity where they're 'thrashing something out'.
