He put her in front of a mic and told her to repeat what he was saying and then edited it into the song. It's a work of fiction. If it moves you and you relate to it, well fictional work is allowed to do that, but I find personally find it a bit misleading. Especially because it took so little effort for someone who knows nothing about loss to make.
