@Hacklew agreed! I'm new to this site but have always been a Stevie Nicks fan! I decided to google her (Stevie Nicks) meaning behind this awesome song. I found it slightly different then what my interpretation was, but that's only bc I was basing the lyrics off of my own past experiences with bad relationships. The part where she said in the top comment that the man who basically captivated her in the song ,dies but when she becomes an old lady; dying herself, his spirit reaches for her to join him was so sad but beautiful at the same...

Whenever I listen to it I think of the man I am with now, and how he is so completely different from the last 2 men I had previously dated; 1 being the father of my daughter. Anyways, those relationships were abusive and unhealthy to say the least so I left and decided to give up on men and didn't want to even try to look for one...I WAS DONE;HAD ENOUGH! Then an old friend of mine said to me one fateful day, that I could use a friend that had been in similar circumstances as me that we went to High School with. So, something in my gut just told me to contact him via Facebook to see how he was doing. Funny thing is, we never hung out at all in high school, but knew who each other were. I invited him over to see a movie bc I couldn't go out at the time bc of a broken foot. When he came over the first time and I looked in his beautiful brown eyes, I just knew in the pit of my stomach (without him saying anything) that I was going to fall in love with him easily and him love me just as much, if not more!LOL!!!
We've been together for almost 2 years now and just moved in together, along with my daughter(Whom she adores) and still to this day, whenever he comes home from work or he comes in dressed nice, he still takes my breath away...Like magic, as if he has some kind of secret love potion. LMAO!!!! Anyways, that's how I interpret the song for myself....The fire meaning, the spark is still very strong; The magic part meaning, is how I think of him and the hold he has on me, (I also have that hold on him too.LOL!) and the part where she says,"I have known this much longer than I've known you," to me, in a sense means, Even though I had given up on men bc of horrible luck, I still knew deep in inside ever since I was young there will be a Prince Charming for me, and he's exactly that to me. I never wanted to Marry any of my ex's; Marriage hadn't crossed my mind till I met my soul mate. Sorry for the looong reply!
