Haha. No offense, as you are all but none grasp the full meaning of this song. This is from Voltaire's first album, The Devil's Bris. All of the songs in that album have very twisted meanings, some extremely subtle, some not so subtle. This one? Extremely subtle.

Where this song takes a twist is:

cuz you know everything must change as time goes by like the flowers that dry, locking inside forever their beauty, and beauty

He's comparing dried, dead flowers to his girlfriend. Think about that. The rest of the song takes on a whole new meaning.

If you'd like it spelled out for you: His girlfriend was unfaithful or did something to shatter his dreams of eternal companionship. So he murdered her and embalmed her as to preserve her beauty. The mood of this song isn't love: It's sociopathic denial.

or possibly he's using it in the sense that when a flower is dried, it's image and beauty are forever, and the girl he is in love with, to him, will forever look as beautiful as she did when he first met her...

Maybe, that's just my take

Wow talk about reading too deeply into something. Why are there so many people on this site that think every song is about suicide or murder. It's just a pretty celebration of one's love for another. No other lyric supports this theory at all.
