I think it's a story about how the girl goes out to end her old life and start anew, and hitches a ride with the wrong person who beats and maims and uses her body, and she loves it. She finds out she's a massive masochist, and, although in the beginning she wants to die and be gone and start a new life, she can't help but fall in love with this stranger who gave her pain.
As for deeper meaning, I think wiL's trying to convey that we all can't help but love the pain, if not for the enjoyment value but because pain sets you apart and makes you different. The pain is strange and not what we're used to, but that the pain makes us who we are.
