The nocturnal pill popping, caffeine craving, nicotine-addicted internet creep that slides under the door sometime between 3 and 5 a.m. In these hours, the nightcrawler moves from room to room, longing for human contact and conversation. If none is available, he simply resorts to facebook, espn classic, or aim for communication to the outside world. The nightcrawler moves with stealth-like quickness powered by a nicotine-induced turbo from place to place, searching for fellow nightcrawlers. The Nightcrawler symbolizes the women who can't find happiness in their world. She tries hard to fall in love but can't because of her past relationships the Nightcrawler dosn't trust. She's out at 3 in the morning looking for something wether it be drugs or sex she takes any form of companionship she can take but will soon leave thereafter because she is unhappy with her life but can't fill the emptyness in her heart and example of this would be Evie Zamora from the movie thirteen.

Now my second theory is pretty simple, the death of chivalry. If you look at the last two lines "Pick up the slack from the wickedness, straight up
Clean up our manners and our etiquette, alright now" In these lines they use the word ours instead of she. Now if the nightcrawler is a woman..or represents women then in these last two lines our would be referring to men. Clean up our manners and our etiquette. Go threough the song and read about the Nightcrawler's mannerisms she dosn't stand up for herself which means she was probably abused verbally as a child atleast which created the trust issues mentioned earlier which would lead to her anger and unhappiness through life.
Id agree with your 1st opinion. I've sort of dealt with a night crawler...and this song was right track with what I was going through at the time. Great song, even better band!
