It sounds to me like he is saying he has been placed in an asylum, against his will, and he just honestly doesn't believe he's insane. He's trapped, all alone and losing his mind. Obviously he see's everything he's enduring as torture but believes he's brought it on himself (I pay the price for eating rats) i didn't look into the song too much, so i took a straightforward approach, but it would be awesome if anybody sees something i dont!

I fuckin love this album!I was so happy to hear that they came back to the sound i love them for: Emo and Full of Angst! Conviction was all shit, and i'd almost given up on Aiden feeling that they had sold out entirely. But wow, they came back alright.
