There must be a reason why such an incredible song was left off of "Is This Desire?". The song seems a bit lighter and more inviting than much of that album, and the lyrics more directly personal than narrative. (Even if the lyrics on the album are deeply personal, PJ uses seemingly fictional names and character sketches -- Angelene, Joy, Elise, Catherine -- and literary references as a barrier between herself and the song. Here (and on many of her other albums) there is no such barrier.)
