i kind of picked up the song being about a murderer name Sam. i got that from the lines "kill comfort kill," "he licks down a knife to her wet aperture," and "you run in the dark cuz it makes you feel free" meaning killing at night. anyways, they want to keep Sam away so they're being "sycophant" so Sam won't hurt them.
