wow i can't stop replaying this song. but as I can see where all of you have come from i started to look at it from a different angle:::
personally, i think that possibly the boy or her lover doesn't trust himself with how their love has bloomed. the song is being said through what she feels is her fault or her doing of why their fear is pulling them apart or how its letting an opening far enough for another to discourage them. maybe she wants to pull him with her to almost let him at least get a taste of what their love could be... and it awakens him to whats been in front of him this whole time.
either way-love the song and i love the complexity laced within-and all the metaphorical stories.
