One of my all time favourite Prince songs. I always loved the song and once I was watching some old stand-up comedy and realised the beginning is taken from a set by Bernie Mac maybe this being in the song adds to its meaning. I think he’s saying flashy people, parliament and the president are a joke, the real power is religion (“flock to the bee that’s the pope”). Just a guess.
