It's easy to dismiss art from 30+ years ago as being cliche or boring but such generalizations are grounded in ignorance. At that time, it WAS VERY shocking. We have the benefit of living in a time when such things are now much more acceptable to express.

Yes for the year 1978 this song was ahead of its time and was considered shocking.
I was only 14 at the time when I bought the album..parents banned me from playing this song..my old man actually broke TWO of my Pil albums. lol
