I think you guys pretty much got it but I think that adding on to it could be more than just one couple it could be a generalization for a lot of couples just staying together for drugs sex and money and more abstract in the idea that it could be about most of society's marriage using drugs and sex to stay together when he says slow down he also means society needs to slow down too
