He's got it so bad for this girl-- he thinks it's a dream, he can't speak, and feels like he's "floating a mile away" from reality. Everything else seems like black and white TV. The feeling is so wonderful that real time is a holiday to him. It's like that quote: "You know you're in love when you can't sleep, because reality is finally better than your dreams." He's also a little worried and confused. Thus, the "Say we'll be OK" part.
