@Susan: This is my favorite of their songs, too.
@panamaniak: OK, smartypants, what's the "obvious" meaning? Are they simply saying that everyone should have some kind of faith?
@panamaniak: I didn't mean for that to sound as rude as it might on the internet. It should be a friendly question, with a smile after "smartypants" :D

The more serious question:
So does it mean that everyone should have some kind of faith? Should people cleanse themselves of their wrongs? Or does it mean that people should cleanse themselves by confessing (like Catholics do)?

Lol! That's okay! And I know this reply is late but I am rarely on here. To answer your question: Personally I am a Christian and believe in the God of the Bible. But I don't force what I belive on others and I don't "condemn" others if they don't share in what I believe. Now should everyone have some kind of faith? That's a tricky question. Because if you look at it like this some people say they don't believe in anything or have "faith" in anything. That unto itself is a "circle without end" if you will, lol! A...

A persons "faith" is in NOT having "faith" in anything. Also what are "wrongs"? People are individuals and what is "wrong" to you and me may be right as rain to someone else. I used to be Catholic and "confess" my sins but I only "confess" to God now and not a priest. I know these may not be the answers you are looking for (lol)but they are (to me)true answers for the world we live in,ie;people are INDIVIDUALS even inside the "same" group(just look at Ireland for example)so it would be kinda fake for me to give a "churchy" umbrella answer, lol! Take care and God bless!
