to me, it seems to be about a guy who can't get his thoughts straight, and always regrets it. at the end of the day he feels like crap because he didn't accomplish/say any of the stuff he wanted to accomplish/say (The night comes crawling in on all fours / Sucking up my dreams through the floor)...
i'm pretty sure that it's just about a guy having difficulty talking to a girl he likes (which is why he goes "no one sees you like i do.)
