I like the repetition of "we went two at a time through the turnstile". To me, this implies that they went "two at a time" both times during their subway ride (entrance and exit).
I don't really get this though:
"after your party in front of your roommates
we walked out the doorway and got on the subway"
So Narrator + Sublet attend a (goodbye) party at Girlfriend's house and then Sublet went home with Narrator to his house? Does this make sense? Girlfriend is not in Europe yet, but already Sublet goes home with Narrator? If this was Girlfriend's last night before leaving for Europe, I would think that she and Narrator would probably spend the night together, even if their relationship is not that great....
