I noticed one key detail most the other comments on the song's meaning are missing, which is the title. "Call it Karma" karma originally came from Hinduism. It was your collective good or bad energy from your souls entire existence. If you did good things lived a good life you created good karma and you'd be reborn in a higher "cast" (place in society). The modern world adopts karma as a much more immediate idea; instead of generate karma over lifetimes we do good things hoping for returns in this life. The song is definitely about a guy in a relationship that's ending or just recently ended. The meaning seems mixed by some contradictory statements "It isn't fate that took us all by storm
It's just the turn of a card" which makes it seem like it was just bad luck. But it contradicts the overall theme and the name of the song, which is KARMA. Karma isn't luck or fate its in a way JUST DESERTS. Saying its not fate its karma is saying that it ended not because it was suppose to, but because that's what I had coming to me because of my actions. He is blaming himself in a very discrete way, but if you believe like I do that's what he's saying its a bit more depressing than the song seems on the surface.
