but it feels like I�m slipping away----- They were in a serious relationship and something has torn them apart... sounds like he's going in one direction and she's going in another. He doesn't know how much longer he can hold and try to make things work....it's hard to fake a smile and be happy when your really not.... he wants to give up cause he sees where the future is going. They aren't on the same page, and life just seems to have a way of doing that to people!!!!

of what would never be----- by this I think he means the word "LOVE" and he has this dream of the way he wants to live his life and the kind of happiness he imagines.....but it's too far away in time....he doesn't know if he can wait that long

In a dream I can�t escape------ Yeah he obviously had a fight with her and she took her belongings and now the house is empty....and he stands there thinking of all the memories that were made in that room and he's starting to accept the reality of it!! The dream he can't escape is the life he made for himself...he is drowning in depression and he can't escape what has already been done!!!

is not everything you need------ Well she broke up with him..... from the way he said that.... he doesn't feel good enough for her.......but he just ran out of time.... he couldn't do everything he wanted cause of timing.
