I love this song, but the original version (when they were still The Hoosier Complex) KILLS me. Way more emotive and dark.
I agree with exitmould. I've always thought this song was about how obsessed with appearance humanity in general is (as opposed to one girl/model) and how, if we couldn't see, would we stop fussing over material things? The Hoosiers themselves have said that the theme of the album is "the trick to life is not to get too attached to it", and this song fits that theme, suggesting that we shouldn't be so obsessed with all the tiny details like how we look and what we have, when you could be out, living life to the full and having fun.
