When he mentions, 'I'm scraped and sober, but there's no one listening to me at all', it got me thinking about the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step recovery program. These alcoholics go through all these steps and emerge out of rehab and then what? Chapter 13...life moves on. What does an addict do when he's supposedly 'cured' of his addiction? How disheartened would you feel if you recovered from something like alcoholism or drug addiction, and no one was there to support you or to hear how well you're doing now that you've kicked the habit?
I haven't checked this idea with all of the lyrics, but I thought it was a point worth bringing up :)
