All gods are imaginary friends. Adults just call them gods to feel less childish. But an imaginary friend doesn’t have to be the Christian “God” or Jesus to have the same spiritual and self-empowering effect. There’s no limit to the possible conceptions of spirits, deities and mythological beings that the human imagination can produce. Whatever the identity of Sinead’s spiritual companion, good for her!
