Lyric discussion by allmyliesareonlywishes

I feel like this song is one giant riddle. And I can't figure it out. I've been thinking maybe its Life? Or the mother earth/nature?

The crow moon is considered by the Native Americans the last full moon of March (according to the Farmer's Almanac). This typically signifies the end of winter and thawing of the earth as the temperatures rise. So then maybe the phenomenon's being brought out in the darkness is the grass , and plants, etc. Spurred on by the heroine "light." And then the spring and storms are obvious.

I just can't seem to make this connection with the rest of the stanzas other than its very season oriented with "him" leaving in the Fall. Nor have I been able to connect it to the hunt.

Anybody think I'm headed in the right direction?
