This is one of my favourite songs by Missy Higgins, or by anyone, really.

I think it's pretty clear that this isn't a song so much about her sexuality, but rather about relationships and how people try to change you rather than just loving you for how you are.

Two people who are obviously not compatible, and one trying to change the other person so that they are.

Given background information, we already know that Missy Higgins is bi, so this song isn't meant to reveal any sort of secret or anything.

My Opinion

I agree and it's an excellent song. The line about the bad fruit is extremely sad. This is a song that describes many people, but there is a differnce between accepting someone for who s/he is, and accepting someone's actions that s/he can control. We are NOT what we do, unless we allow our actions to define us. And when we continue to repeat patterns, we have esentially allowed just that. So what should we expect from others who we've deceived? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. (And that means acceptance). For examle, I refuse to accept some actions such as those that...
