I think this song is about a man who is afraid to live life(represented by the fire) because life has "burned his hands too many times"(he has had too many negative experiences), so he just stares at the fire as life goes by. But the man has to learn that life is short and if he continues to be afraid of being burned, "the rain will come falling" (death). Not too sure about the rest though (I'm too lazy right now). The opening to this song is so powerful. Kalmah rocks!
