Lyric discussion by Zcruiser

I think he's questioning our modern way of life. You can't have a house, car, family, friends, sex, etc., without working your ass off. But are those things really worth it? Is that really what it's all about? It better be, because you're paying with your life. He's not sure, and he's afraid he might be wasting his whole life just to get things he may not even want. He might be sacrificing the true meaning and substance of life for some cookie cutter bullshit way of life. He's wondering if he should follow his dreams, if there's something more out there, or just to take the safe route and follow the social norms.
