I might be wrong, but to me I think the song may be about a young girl who's torn between an older, more dangerous type of guy (meteor) and a meeker but more trust and love-worthy guy (shooting star). Another way to think about this song is that the meteor & the shooting star are the same guy, hinting towards a brief yet "out of this world" type of love affair. Regardless, I think the song is beautiful(:
