Well the meaning is pretty obvious, from the view of Gankutsuou the mysterious man. How he loves a woman and the friends.
According to my memory, the story begins like this:
1.A man and a woman was in love.Very typical.
2.The lovers were very happy until one of their mutual friend, General Fernand Mondego, together with some other people betrayed the man.
3.For some reason, the man faced wrongful imprisonment for many many years.
He has to leave his girlfriend who could have been his wife.
4.The man was so sad and angry, he determined to revenge on all those people who've betrayed him.
5.The woman didn't realize about the betrayal and she eventually married to the "mutual friend" who've betrayed the man she loved all the time.
6.So after years, the happy couple has a son Albert , they never thought the man disappeared for years would come back with his raging revenge, using the son Albert as his tool to ruin all their lives.
7.This is the song of the otherwise innocent loving man but was compelled to become the dreadful demon.
I just love this song. The piano is so deep and beautiful, the melody is so touching, and the story, I'm not a good story teller, the original story is incredibly tragic and beautiful. The man just want his girl back, he just want the love back and what's wrong with that? I hate the treachery, selfishness and evil in people. That has caused too many tragedies, sadness and heartbreaks in the world...
