It might be a bit of a stretch, but the lyrics coupled with the title Field gives me the impression of two people being reunited in heaven or something. On and on together, on and on forever. It just seems to fit, atleast to me it does. Anyways, the song in itself is probably the most beautiful but simple songs I've ever had the privilege of listening to.
I had a similar thought but rather it was a dream rather than heaven, the outro almost ruins the whole thing, when I first heard this song the ending came as a bit of a surprise, but I figured it was like being stirred from a happy dream just to wake up alone or something.
