This song is very good and insightful. It really captures the frustration one can feel with regard to some peoples attitudes towards what it means to follow Christ. What he is saying about the church being 'asleep in the light' is so relevant for today, even though it was written in the early 80's. God wants to see our lives transformed into vessels for his love, so we can help others and not to just lie back and keep soaking it in.
"It's time to quit playing church and start being the Church (Matt. 18:20)" – Keith Green, as quoted by Melody Green in the introduction to A Cry in the Wilderness, Sparrow Press, 1993.
