Another beauty from Galaxie 500. In the original "King of Spain," Dean was jilted by a lover and pretended to be the king of Spain to hide his feelings. Here, I think he's numbed his feelings and is enjoying a fantasy woman in a narcotized state. Just my take on the title and the song itself...
@leamanc This is truly a wonderful track from the Almighty G500. I've learnt over the year's not to worry too much about lyrics but since lockdown, with time on my hands and the power of the internet I've started to investigate and compare opinion's. Not sure your version on pt1 is correct, I need to read Dean's autobiography as I heard there is a section on that track. Pt 2 could be the continuation of the madness but again unsure as I also like your take here! One thing for sure is that the sound G500 produced was totally mesmerising...
