I agree with you but I also think there is the idea that whats in the past is in the past and it might make up who you are - it is one of your pieces - but at the end of the day you dont need to carry all of that around with you - "little pieces that have been left behind". Just let them all go - "pile of ash you dont need".
And when you let them all go thats when you are most "complete" - happy with who you are as you are now.
