He was able to pull himself back from the edge and move on; however, Michelle's recreational use of drugs became a full blown addiction. While he was getting on with his life -- in his quest for success he was not around much to see warning signs that Michelle was spiraling out of control. Unaware that she hit rock bottom and was unable to bounce back, when Michelle's young, drug-addled life was cut short by an overdose, he was devastated and shocked ... he still misses her very much.
