I have kind of a different interpretation as well...
So this guy is with this girl. But he is terribly depressed and can't support her. Hence, even though they're together, she's always been on her own, and she'll never make it that way... it's better for her to go, and move on.
He's trying to tell her that he's done and can't take it anymore. That she should forget about him, so that she won't be hurt by his suicide...
The only thing that doesn't really fir is the "You'll have to pay" section. I kind of got the impression that he was telling her he'd kill her too if she didn't leave-- as in, "everyone in here is going to die, so you better leave." Perhaps he has resentment toward her for some reason.
the part you said you're unsure of how it fits, the "You'll have to pay to watch me die" line could be seen as she'll pay with her sanity. think about it, if your loved one killed themself in front of you, you'd probably go crazy and wonder what you could have done to fix it or save them. and if they meant a lot to you, the image of them killing themself would be forever burned into your mind. everytime you'd close your eyes, you'd see it and feel...
