I don't know if these are the actual lyrics because it is hard to discern exactly what he is singing but regardless, this is one of Deerhunter's great songs. One of my top 3 favorite songs of theirs.
Listening to 'Vox Celeste 5', where his vocal treatment is more discernible in regards to understanding the lyrics, I do now think you have the correct lyrics posted. Initially, with the Weird Era Cont. version, the 'Stay' part sounded almost as if he was saying, "Soothsayer/I don't want you to stay/I need you to stay", etc.
