One of my favourite white lies songs. When I first heard it I thought it was about a guy who loved this girl but he died and he came back as a ghost just to be close to her. She doesn't know of course. She never knew about the guy's feelings and she's always been in love with another guy who likes another girl. So she aches "I saw a teardrop fall, gently down your cheek" and the first guy also feels sorry. A lot of parts in the song don't match my interpretation but that's just what I get out of the song.
