I agree with the comments above. This is one of the few worthwhile songs on the crappy "On Every Street" album, their descent into oblivion. At their last concert, promoting "On Every Street" Knopfler was just going through the motions.
I don't think "On every street" is a crappy album, in fact, I really like it, and I think it's one of his best up to that point in Knopfler's career. Songs like 'My Parties", obviously a satire on the Hollywood set, "Ticket to Heaven' A slap in the face to the Radio preachers. Have you really listened to the Album priorly, or just expected another 'Sultans of swing' type of song? I suggest you go back and have a proper listen, because 'crappy' it ain't.
