Damn this is a great song. Yes, there is raw emotion is this one. But you can totally hear the "writer" Claudio speaking here when he refers to "angel from the west" Claud's wife is originally a model from L.A. and he is from the East Coast.

So this is about Pearl Hohenburger, Leonard Hohenburger's wife, who created Coheed, Cambria, and Inferno (Claudio's dad, mom, and uncle respectively)

They lost her son and it broke her heart and her mind. She's also held captive and driven insane in by Wilhelm Ryan in order to coerce Leonard into creating the Monstar virus to destroy humanity. Wishing to God he'd let her rest must reference the suffering of the loss of their son, or the pain she experienced while being help captive, or possibly her suicide.
