I believe it's about how he's so different and 'better' than everyone else and he has to go through life dealing with idiots or contradictions in order to find the good in it. He wonders out loud as to why no one else understands things the way he 'understands' them. Also, he finally realizes that these people pose no threat to him and, therefore, stopped caring about their opinions and fearing them. He calls himself a 'fluke' or 'freak' because he is so drastically different from the majority.

I see it as the complete opposite: Devin is saying he is the Fluke because he sees himself as not that special. As if to say "why do so many people worship me when I'm really not that different to them and there are so many more talented musicians/composers/songwriters than me?"
