And it's so about me a few years beack, trying to get over losing someone, making a 100 resolutions but never following through with them. "i've got one song i write 100 times and only a dozen or so rhymes" probably refer to him having difficulty in writing new material (obviously this is not true), which is also a by-product of the stagnant, yet slowly declining rut the protagonist's life has become.
