I think the song is meant to be ironic. Like he stated, people use religion as an excuse for any bad behavior, then can repent, and even in the midst of repentance, pledging to God that they will mend their ways in the same breath they continue to behave badly, hence the lyric:

I completely agree with you. Except for the "I have a reservation / what do you mean it's not in the computer" part... I think it's more like 'shocked' or appalled someone is when they're not accept to Heaven... If that makes sense? Everyone feels they have a reservation to Heaven, no matter what cruel acts they've done and by a simple act of contrition they can waltz right in in the afterlife. But they're reservation gets lost...
