I agree with boltzman5 that it sounds like he says “‘Cuz magic ain’t no hand-me-down yearning”
but rather than hearing onion I hear unend “like some everlasting unend I love”
I’m not too sure about the kangaroo part... though it sort of sounds like he says “like a bow-tied kangaroo” or “like and old, tired kangaroo”, I guess the latter would make more sense.
