She might be his best friend i dont really know. He is recalling his old memories he has with her, the places they have been together. He is looking forward to meeting her again, but he can no longer to that.

My Dear Account- Jim Croce did not write this song. It was written by his lead guitarist Maury Muehleisen in 1970 when he ran into a high school sweetheart at the Trenton, NJ train station. They were both dropping friends off at the station. She was dressed to the hilt and he, as many up and coming musicians, was dressed quite sparingly. Croce only sang the song.
