The song makes me think of the validity of that final statement. By itself, yes, piano is the most versatile instrument; you've got 7 octaves on a keyboard. But in the context of others playing in several instruments, even if it only has ~40 notes, I think guitar the superior instrument. The advent of pedals gave so many different sounds and moods that I still don't think have been by touched by keyboard.
In the end though, Johnny death is right; it all depends on the players devtion and imagination....
