I think this song is about standing up from suppression, even though it may not be political or anything.
There is constant referencing to "Fight" and "bludgeon", also the word "serfdom" refers to being repressed and being in slavery.
The cockatrice is just a symbol for some form of something bigger than the individual, that suppresses.
Further, Imelda Marcos is known for living at the expenses of the people, and she gets shoved down the mountain side. All in the name of liberating the imprisoned.
I think noface refers to a typical political figure, which does not show or pick a side. As in spirited away, you never really new whether noface was good or bad....
As to who Lewis is, I do not know, but its certain that he is taking action!
I got this song off Blalocks indie/rock playlist! It is excellent!
Interesting interpretation, I like it. I find the lyrics quite violent, i.e. "Bludgeon till the body's cold" That's just over the top so maybe more than just 'free the people' but also cause widespread anarchy and violence?

As for Blalocks indie/rock playlist: Me too! I discovered Owen this way and I now love all his songs, especially this one :)
