I so adore this song. I think it is about being yourself and trying not to be something you're not. Whatever the correct interpretaton is, I love it.

According to Scott, he says it's mainly about West Philly (Baltimore being a road in Philly, and the Second Mile being a thrift store in a seedy part of the city). He wrote this song about how places in Philly have started to change for the worse, but is still a great place for artists. "I wanted to write something about the people and places around me."
