I don't think the couple did survive... I mean, let's face it, Sonata Arctica is not known for writing happy love stories. Letter to Dana, Tallulah, My Selene... heck, even the Caleb saga and the damn stalker complex. I believe the couple did die in the end, one first, then the other. In any case, it's obvious they're talking of a young witch (perhaps a Wiccan, condemned by the Inquisition like other nine million european women), and her lover, who by affiliation is also condemned... such an amazing way to tell the story, though. Breath-taking!
